But according to the recent medical reports on sleep disorders, the snoring is an alarm for the obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). It could cause choking and awaking in the night, insomnia, nocturnal polyuria, gastroesophageal reflux, excessive daytime somnolence, poor concentration, reduction of memory, poor working performance, and in the long run, causing hypertension, coronary artery disease, and myocardial infarction or stroke. It is also closely related to the sexual dysfunction in men.
