Medical Team
The center integrates various professional departments according to different characteristics of diseases. For example, Department of Oral Surgery, Department of Otolaryngology, and Department of Plastic Surgery cooperate to accomplish the reconstruction of head and neck defects after tumor ablation. Department of General Surgery works with Department of Plastic Surgery to accomplish the reconstruction of breast. The center also integrates rehabilitation treatment to help patients recover the limb function after reconstruction. Psychotherapists and alienists carry on the research and patients' mental preparation after surgery. Cancer Center formats a research and discussion team with Department of Hematology & Oncology, Department of Radiotherapy, Department of Radiology, and Department of Pathology to promote each treatment of cancer.

Summary
The current situation of surgical diseases in southern Taiwan is characterized by the large amount of patients suffering from accident, burn and scald, crush injury of the hand, and open fracture of lower limbs and soft tissue defects such as common reconstructive procedures which still remain predominant. On the other hand, the difficult cases relating to geriatrics and chronic wounds increase markedly. As for cancers, oral cavity cancers which are almost seen in men ranks fourth leading cause of death, breast cancer of women ranks third. The center organizes five functional reconstruction teams to cope with the situation above, including (1) head & neck neoplasms, (2) reconstruction of breast cancer, (3) burn center, (4) limb reconstruction, and (5) trauma treatment. The hospital founds Aesthetic Surgery Center which aims at the non-diseased plastic operations or aesthetic operations to develop integrated treatment and care, to research and innovate for ensuring the success rate of the operations and excellent care quality, and to provide aesthetic patients with safe treatment.

Hand surgery: Including hand trauma to the muscular, neural, and vascular structures, replantation of fingers and other body parts, management of carpal bone fracture & phalanx fracture, congenital anomalies, excision of hand tumor, treatment of rheumatoid arthritis or metabolic deformity of hands.

Congenital deformity:Including deformity of facial structures, such as cleft lip, cleft palate, mongolism, malocclusion, microtia, deformity of other parts of the body and so on.

Tumor of head and neck: Including oral cavity cancer, tongue cancer, lip cancer, hypopharyngeal cancer, gingival cancer, parotid gland cancer, submaxillary gland tumor, cyst, and common benign tumors, such as skin tumor of head and neck.

Systemic skin tumor: Including excision and reconstruction of benign tumors and malignancies, for example, nevus, skin cancer, hemangioma, and excision and reconstruction of malignancies.

Trauma handling and limbs reconstruction: Including reconstruction of vascular or neural injury, burn intensive care center.

Aesthetic surgery center:Including Aesthetic surgeries of face (such as upper blepharoplasty for oriental eye, upper blepharoplasty for aging, lower blepharoplasty, augmentation rhinoplasty, forehead lift, cheek augmentation with autologous fat transplant, cheek dimpling formation, chin augmentation, deep nasolabial fold, depressed scar treatment, face lift, brow lift, square face, mandibular bone contouring,) Mammaplasty: augmentation mammaplasty, reduction mammaplasty, mastopexy, nippoareolar plasty, breast reconstruction, Body contouring: liposuction, abdominoplasty, Other plastic surgeries: bromidrosis, hair transplant.

Burn treatment: There are special beds of ICU level, complete isolative space, sufficient hydrotherapy and equipment for operation and dressing change in the center. It has the ability to care acute patients having large area scald, and its trans-department integrated group provides nursing, care of Nutrition Section, respiration therapy, rehabilitation, consultation of psyche and social service, cosmetic and reconstruction surgery after scalded those service items and so on.
